Ice skating at the Warsinski ice rinks located at Morehouse Park will open this Friday January 1. Currently the Chalet cannot be open due to Governor Walz order 20-99. So please dress warm as the Chalet cannot be used as a warming house or storage of personal belongings. Due to the current changes additional benches will be placed outside the chalet for people to change into their skates. Rental of skates and picking up of food can be done by entering the main door and exit of south door, with the maximum of 15 in chalet at a time. Once skates are rented or food is picked up patrons must leave and not congregate. When retuning rental skates the same entrance and exit must be used. These rental items will be sanitized between each use. Also, at this time bonfires are not allowed. We ask that when skating that you practice proper social distancing, hygiene, and if you have symptoms to not use the facility at that time. When skating is open the hours of operation are:
Monday thru Friday: 3:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Saturday, Holidays, School Vacation Days: 11:00 am to 9:30 pm (January 1, 8, 18 and 19)
Sunday: 12:00 pm to 9:30 pm
We also hope to have most cross country ski trails open by Friday January 1 as well.
Cross Country Skiing at Kaplans, Brooktree or Morehouse. The Parks Department packs and grooms cross-country skiing trails thru out the winter season with trails thru Kaplan’s Woods, from Kaplans to Morehouse Chalet and the upper and lower nine of Brooktree golf course. Ski rentals are available at Morehouse Chalet during the above schedule of hours of being open at the chalet
