- Catch Basin Maintenance
A catch basin is designed to drain excess rain and melting snow from paved streets, parking lots, sidewalks, and roofs. Catch basins are fed by street gutters on most streets, freeways and other busy roads. The City of Owatonna must maintain several hundred catch basins throughout the City and greatly appreciate help from the citizens letting us know which catch basins need immediate attention.
Typical maintenance of catch basins includes trash removal if a grate or other debris capturing device is used, and removal of sediment using a vactor truck. The City is committed to keeping our storm sewer system clean and maintained.
Report a Concern can used for the public to notify the City of Owatonna of repair or cleaning needed for catch basins.
