West Hills Social Commons

West Hills Social Commons is a division of the Owatonna Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Owatonna. Come and visit West Hills Social Commons, a place for leisure and recreational pursuits for adults over 50 years of age. We are located on the West Hills campus off of State Avenue.

West Hills Social Commons is a 'One-Stop Shop' for seniors with Healthy Seniors of Steele County, Semcac Senior Dining, Mobility Meals and of course Adult Leisure Pursuits all under one roof.

Mission

The mission of the Owatonna West Hills Social Commons is to involve, enrich and empower adults 50 years of age or better to live as independently as possible in our communities.

We do this by promoting the wellness of adults 50 years of age or better through recreational, educational and social opportunities as well as being a referral source for services available within our service area. Activities and programming of the center emphasize creating and maintaining independence in all phases of life.

Vision

It is our vision that we become an indispensable asset to boomers, seniors and our community by offering programs and services that enable boomers and seniors to live healthy and meaningful lives in their own homes within their community.

Winter Weather Closing

Bad weather may force closing and cancellations. If the weather looks uncertain, tune into your local radio station, check the Park and Rec Cancellation page or call the cancellation line at 507-444-4321 for information regarding the closing of West Hill's Social Commons.

Always remember to stay safe in this Minnesota weather. Roads and walkways may appear to be clear, but could be icy. If the weather looks uncertain, it is always better to be safe and stay home.
